The excavating team from the University of Sydney uncovered fragments of marble sculptures in an ongoing dig at an ancient theatre site in Kato Paphos.
The team, which was undertaking its 15th dig season in Paphos, found a monument consecrated to the nymphs of ancient Greek and Roman mythology along with fragments of theatrical items.
Paphos was the capital of Cyprus in Greek and Roman times and many of its ancient archaeological remains, accessible to the public, are on the World Heritage List.
